چکیده

This study aims to provide an alternative soil improvement that can be applied in the Petobo area, which experienced liquefaction on September 29, 2018. Ferronickel slag is utilized as a binding agent. Furthermore, large concentrations of alkaline solutions (potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide) are activators activate kaolin initiate geopolymer production process. From test results, it concluded potassium effective solution. The maximum unconfined compressive strength sample about 530 kPa with concentration 10% ferronickel 10M activator. value twice larger than if we cement same amount concentration. Hence, effect admixture activator more dominant only. Scanning Electron Microscope X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer tests were also carried out investigate chemical bonds occurred samples. It revealed matrix envelops particles resulting from reaction. composition SiO2 Al2O3 treated silty sand decreased. might due reaction occurs so content compounds reduced. Because uses form KOH NaOH solution, there increase levels MgO compared untreated sand.

Potential Soil Contamination in Areas Where Ferronickel Slag Is Used for Reclamation Work

This study aims to analyze contamination with the use of soil reclaimed with ferronickel slag (FNS). In order to investigate any contamination due to FNS disposal, soils were collected from three sites. The contamination analysis was done on these samples through a series of laboratory tests. Furthermore, laboratory tests simulating field conditions were performed in a soil chamber. In the lab ...

Impact of Micropiles Installation on Liquefaction Potential of Saturated Silty Sand Using Numerical Method

This paper investigates the effect of micropile installation into saturated sandy soil by means of finite element method. The obtained results from numerical modeling are compared with the received data from the site. The validation of software has been done by simulating standard penetration test. The effect of some changes in spacing (3m, 1.6m and 0.8m) and injection pressure (1cm, 2.5cm, 5cm...

Durability of Mortar Incorporating Ferronickel Slag Aggregate and Supplementary Cementitious Materials Subjected to Wet–Dry Cycles

This paper presents the strength and durability of cement mortars using 0–100% ferronickel slag (FNS) as replacement of natural sand and 30% fly ash or ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) as cement replacement. The maximum mortar compressive strength was achieved with 50% sand replacement by FNS. Durability was evaluated by the changes in compressive strength and mass of mortar specime...
